Donald Trump has continued his policy of supporting his kindred spirit Vladimir Putin. In an interview on Friday, MSNBC’s host, Joe Scarborough, asked Trump if he still appreciates the praise in face of Putin’s violent policies. The Russian leader has allegedly killed a number of journalists and political opponents.
But that didn’t seem to bother Donald.
“He’s running his country and at least he’s a leader,” Trump said.
“But again, he kills journalists that don’t agree with him,” Scarborough pressed.
“I think our country does plenty of killing also, Joe,” Trump replied. “There’s a lot of stuff going on in the world right now, Joe. A lot of killing going on and a lot of stupidity and that’s the way it is.”
A stunned Scarborough decided to ask Trump to directly condemn Putin for ‘disappearing journalists’. Trump finally relented and casually said ‘sure’.
Trump probably has a point, there is no doubt that the U.S. government will have had people killed. It’s refreshing to hear such honesty, however he failed to condemn the fact that it happens and instead he basically condoned the actions of the Russian president.
