Woman Lost 115lbs With NO Surgery And Is Now A Bikini Model

A formerly overweight woman has forged a career as a fitness bikini model after losing half her body weight. Donna Gillie lost the impressive amount without the aid of surgery, choosing instead to opt for good old-fashioned healthy eating and exercise. The fitness model from Nova Scotia, Canada, currently weighs a svelte 115lbs.

At her heaviest, Donna tipped the scales at 230lb. She admits that her sweet tooth was her downfall: “I began to struggle with my weight in my early teens. I knew early on I always struggled with food — I always overate. My trigger foods are, with no question, sweets. I love chocolate, ice cream, and cheesecake and always will.”

Despite her love of all things sweet, 22-year-old Donna knew she had to make a change: “I remember sitting at my desk at my new job and feeling very uncomfortable.” Once you see what she looks like today, you truly won’t believe she’s the same person.212

Donna decided to hit the gym back in 2010 when she realised she’d had enough of the overweight life. This helped her lose 70lbs over two years, after which she hit a plateau. She realised that in39 order to carry on losing weight, she’d need to make a change to her diet too.

“I began with small steps, I didn’t actually change the way I ate until fairly far into my fitness journey. I guess you could say I hit a plateau – so I started to change the way I ate. I watched my portions and ate more fruits and veggies, less packaged food more whole food.”

44When she finally reached her goal weight of 115lb, Donna hired a coach to help further sculpt her figure. Donna entered her first competition back in 2014: “I entered not because I wanted a plastic trophy or any recognition but something for myself – to prove to myself I could shape my body after all my hard work losing the weight I wanted to build my body. I truly enjoyed the process. I was 115lb the day of my show – exactly half the woman I was when I started working out.”

Sometimes, when you’ve got a busy life, it can seem almost impossible to find the time to exercise. Donna is a shining example of what a bit of dedication can do, but the guy in the video on the next page takes things to the next level.
